MA course for animation starts at Aalto-University in 2019

Good news for a new year: Aalto-University is finally making true for its plans of starting Master’s Programme in animation. Tuula Leinonen (in picture above) has been appointed as an Executive in Residence to lead the new programme. Furthermore, in 2020 the joint master degree with Portuguese and Belgian universities is planned. Finnanimation has been asked to operate as an industry partner with it.

For a new innovative university that merged science and technology, design and art, and business and economics in 2010 from three separate but esteemed universities, animation has been seen as a cross-cutting subject not anymore limited to one particular field in the entertainment industry.

Duration of the new course is two years full time. Application period is already on and lasts until 11.1.2019.
